NetEase Games has announced the official launch of a crossover event between their asymmetric multiplayer game Identity V and the popular JRPG Persona 5 Royal. The event, which began on August 2, 2024, offers players a chance to participate in new challenges and obtain exclusive content from both franchises.
The crossover, running until August 31, 2024, features a range of activities and rewards for players. The centerpiece of the event is “The Challenge of the Phantom Thieves Returns,” where participants can earn various in-game items including Crossover Essences and Inspiration. A notable reward is the A Pet Morgana, obtainable through completing specific challenge tasks.
In addition to the event challenges, NetEase has introduced a limited-time Crossover Special Package in the in-game store. Priced at 288 Echoes, the package allows players to choose between Persona 5 Crossover Essences or Inspiration. Each player can purchase this package up to six times during the event period.
The crossover brings back costumes from previous Identity V and Persona 5 collaborations, giving players who missed out on earlier events a chance to complete their collections. These include both regular appearance costumes and ‘Souls of Resistance’ costumes that aim to capture the essence of the Persona 5 universe.
Among the returning costumes are S-tier and A-tier outfits for various Identity V characters, themed after Persona 5 characters such as Goro Akechi, Makoto Niijima, Ann Takamaki, and Haru Okumura. The event also offers related emotes, portraits, and graffiti.
This collaboration between Identity V and Persona 5 Royal represents a continued trend of cross-media partnerships in the gaming industry, offering fans of both franchises a unique opportunity to engage with familiar characters in a new context.
