The highly anticipated remaster of the cult classic zombie hack-and-slash game, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, is approaching its final stages of development. Producer Yoshimi Yasuda recently announced via social media that the game is close to receiving approval for all platforms, with no content revision requests from platform holders.
Scheduled for a worldwide digital release on September 25, 2024, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will be available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The remaster aims to enhance the original 2012 game with 4K resolution and 60fps support, along with quality-of-life improvements, new gameplay features, combat adjustments, and additional cosmetic options.
One notable addition is the inclusion of two game modes: Original Mode and RePOP Mode. The latter will feature less explicit depictions of violence, utilizing pop-art damage effects for a different visual experience. Yasuda, who served as the executive producer for the original game, has been transparent about the development process, emphasizing the team’s commitment to meeting fan expectations. He has also hinted at “surprise news” for fans, generating additional excitement for the release.
We have almost obtained the approval from all of the platforms on which LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW RePOP is scheduled for release.
This is very important for us, the original staff, but there were no requests for changes to the game content.
