The video provided an in-depth look at the game’s election system, where players will compete against a diverse cast of candidates, each with their unique agendas and backgrounds. Notable contenders include Forden, the supreme authority of Sanctism, and Louis, an army officer advocating for meritocracy. Other candidates range from the beauty-focused Milo to the tax-abolishing Roger, showcasing the game’s wide variety of political viewpoints.
The Metaphor ReFantazio latest showcase also highlighted the follower system, a key gameplay mechanic where players can form bonds with various characters throughout their journey. These relationships not only provide narrative depth but also unlock powerful “Archetypes” that players can use in battle, adding a strategic layer to character interactions.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is set in a fantasy world where the death of a king triggers an unprecedented election to determine the next ruler. Players will navigate this political landscape while embarking on quests and forming alliances to gather support for their candidacy.
ATLUS will release the game on October 11, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. Both standard and Digital Deluxe editions are available for pre-order, with the latter commemorating the 35th anniversary of the ATLUS brand. As the release date approaches, ATLUS promises more information in future showcases, with the next one set to focus on the game’s journey aspects and daily activities.
