Looks like Pieces of Eden has arrived at our doorsteps in the form of the elegantly cool Magic: The Gathering and Assassin’s Creed collaboration set, courtesy of our friends at Wizards of the Coast.
In collaboration with Ubisoft, this latest set for the Universes Beyond series brings the Hidden Ones to light as their millennia-old struggle against the Knights Templar is depicted in the form of amazingly illustrated Magic: The Gathering (MTG) cards. Without further ado, let’s take a leap of faith into the haystack treasure trove that is Assassin’s Creed Universes Beyond set for Magic: The Gathering.
Starting, we have the Assassin’s Creed Bundle – featuring Assassin’s Creed II protagonist and Italian Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze as the poster boy with his iconic double hidden-blade pose.
Step into history with this Bundle with 9 packs of 7-card Beyond Boosters, a “Royal Assassin” card with alternate artwork and traditional foil treatment, 20 basic land cards in Traditional Foil, and another 20 as regular cards, a special d20 dice with Assassin’s Creed emblem to serve as your life counter, and a special card box depicting Ezio overseeing Florence.
Within the collection, there is also a Starter Kit – a great pack to get you started with MTG. In the box, there is a play guide manual, which teaches you the basics of MTG as well as 2 ready-to-play 60-card decks along with 2 deck boxes so you can drag your friend along for some MTG fun.
Note: That Ezio figure does not come included and is only in the photos for illustrative purposes.
Additionally, the Assassin’s Creed MTG cards are also available in both the aforementioned Beyond Boosters and Collector Boosters for a higher chance of pulling foiled cards. Beyond Boosters are newly introduced booster packs in this set and are specific to Universes Beyond releases. These boosters contain both new cards and reprints – and are not draftable, but each booster “takes you on a journey unique to the specific Universe”.
Of course, this wouldn’t be about Assassin’s Creed if we did not highlight the various iconic assassins throughout the series – all appearing as Legendary Creature cards with beautifully illustrated artwork – from Desmond, Ezio, Arno to Adéwalé, Shay, and Eivor.
In case you missed it, previously we had a special card preview for the reprint of “Propaganda” in Assassin’s Creed fashion, which you can check out here.
Unsheathe your hidden blades, blend into the crowd, and summon your best cards because the Assassin’s Creed collaboration set will be freerunning into Magic: The Gathering on July 5, 2024. Our thanks to Wizards of the Coast for letting us check out the set ahead of its epic release!
