After 18 years since the original game hit consoles, Capcom just stealthily announced Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, an updated re-release of the first game with “a brand new look”.
The re-release of Dead Rising will be coming to the newest generation of platforms but no specific platforms and release date has been announced yet.
There is no other information aside from the description of the announcement trailer, which reads: “Hello? Is this thing on? This is Frank! Frank West! Is anyone out there? Grab your camera and prepare for the big scoop on Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Stay tuned for more info soon.”
At the same time, publisher Capcom also announced that it will host the Capcom Next: Summer 2024 broadcast on July 1st, 2024, at 3 p.m. PT.
This will be the broadcast that will reveal information for the newly announced Dead Rising remastered, as noted by Capcom.
Aside from Dead Rising, the 25-minute broadcast will also feature new information for the upcoming Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and the iOS and Mac versions of Resident Evil 7 biohazard.
As mentioned, Dead Rising was released 18 years ago in 2006 for the Xbox 360. The game is an open-world third-person action game where you fight zombies in a heavily infested mall with some rather quirky weapons.
While details for the remaster have not been revealed yet, the teaser did showcase protagonist Frank West in an updated high-poly model with more detailed animations.
