The original game was released in 1998 on the PlayStation, Nintendo 64, GameCube and Dreamcast. The remake was made with full 3D environments, performance enhancements when it was ported to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and an over-the-shoulder perspective as compared to the fixed camera angle in the original games of the series. The Resident Evil 2 remake was released in 2019 and is available on the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC via Steam.
The team was unable to celebrate in 2022 when they achieved over 10 million copies sold as they were at home. With Resident Evil 2 remake having achieved over 13 million reaching almost 14 million sales, this celebration has been long overdue. They have also made huge success with other titles such as the Monster Hunter series with Monster Hunter: World having sold over 20 million copies and this doesn’t include the Iceborne expansion. Congratulations to Capcom once again for achieving this milestone.
