After a long wait, horse girl fans can finally rejoice as Cygames has announced that the free-to-play racing simulation game Uma Musume Pretty Derby will be released in English. No release date has been announced yet.
First launched in February 2021 for Android and iOS devices, Uma Musume Pretty Derby always felt like one of those few Cygames projects that are never going to be released outside of Japan and Asia.
Even though characters from Uma Musume Pretty Derby have shown up in games that were released globally – for example, Gold Ship of Team Spica was featured in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising as a navigator.
Now that is going to change as not only an English version of Uma Musume Pretty Derby was announced, but a playable demo will be available for those attending Anime Expo 2024.
Anime Expo 2024 will be happening at the Lost Angeles Convention Center from July 4 to July 7, 2024, and the Uma Musume Pretty Derby demo will be at Exhibit Hall #3306.

Alongside the announcement, an official English website, a YouTube channel as well as an X account were also launched.
For the uninitiated, Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is a multimedia project spanning video games, anime, manga, and more.
The franchise has garnered a huge fanbase despite the original mobile game only being available in Japan and selected regions, mostly attributed to the highly popular anime series.
To summarize the premise, basically, it’s about Horse Girls as the title translates, and they aim to become top idols and compete in the national sports entertainment show “Twinkle Series.”
