Godzilla Minus One is Currently One of the Most Pirated Movies 

Academy Awards winner kaiju flick Godzilla Minus One has unfortunately become one of the most pirated movies right now.

According to TorrentFreak, a publication that focuses on copyright, privacy, and filesharing insight, Godzilla Minus One is the most torrented movie for the week ending on May 6, 2024, followed by Dune: Part Two, Arcadian, and so on.

Interestingly, on the list ranking the movie privacy trend, aside from Dune: Part One, which likely rose in popularity due to the sequel’s release, Godzilla Minus One stands out as the only movie not released this year.

A speculation on why the movie became a subject of piracy is likely due to the limited showing of the film, which was released only in a selected few countries.

The film has yet to be released in most Asian countries, and even though it is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, it turned out to be in Japan only at the moment.

Godzilla Minus One premiered in Japan on October 18, 2023, and was written, directed, and with visual effects by Takashi Yamazaki.

Set in postwar Japan, the film follows a former pilot suffering post-traumatic stress disorder after encountering Godzilla. The movie went on to attain numerous accolades, including multiple nominations and winning the Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards.
