[ Guide ] Stellar Blade – Essential Side Quests to Clear 

Throughout your journey along with EVE in Stellar Blade, you can come across a wide variety of side quests that may seem unimportant at first, especially if you prefer to focus on the main story content. Although, like most games, less important fetch quests do exist, but Stellar Blade does have important side quests marked with special markers, most of which are practically mandatory to complete.

As such, here are the quests that you should prioritize clearing for a better progression and its bountiful rewards.

Reboot!

The first side quest is the list is arguably the most important to complete as soon as possible, as it asks you to stabilize the Wasteland’s unstable energy supply by checking for problems at a Solar Tower. Although optional, it might as well be mandatory, because ignoring this quest means you lose access to unlock all the camps scattered throughout the Wasteland. 

Just imagine, not completing this mission, forcing you to explore a vast map by foot without being able to fast travel or rest to recover HP and replenish items. This mission is fairly easy to clear, as your goal is to visit the problematic Solar Tower. A similar quest will appear once you reach another big map, which is the Great Desert as well, albeit tougher.

First Customer

As you progress further into the main story, you will notice some changes in the city of Xion. One such difference is the opening of new facilities, including Gwen’s Hair Salon. As the name implies, by visiting the salon, you can change EVE’s hairstyle and even her hair color.

But before the salon can operate, the hairdresser Kasim will need your help in recovering her stolen salon equipment. In total, there are 3 tools to find, namely Scissors, Dryer, and Straightener, all of which are located in the Junkyard in the Wasteland.

Plan to Clean the Earth

While exploring the upper area of the Wasteland map, there will be a moment when you receive a distress signal, which leads you to Scrap Yard. Once you find the source of the distress signal, you will encounter a smart drone called D1G-g2r. It has been hit by a large chunk of scrap and requires your rescue. 

To save him, you will need to walk through the Scrap Yard to activate several mechanisms before you can use a crane. You will need to activate them in order according to D1G-g2r’s instructions.

Once rescued, D1G-g2r will serve as one of the most important vendors in the game, as it sells a selection of important materials needed to strengthen EVE’s capabilities in combat, ranging from attack power for weapons, and expansion slots for gear, to Exospine upgrades.

The items sold by D1G-g2r cannot be purchased with ordinary currency, so you would need to acquire specific materials to exchange for them.

Stolen Treasure 

Progressing even further in the story, the city of Xion will go through another phase of changes as more residents move in and new facilities open up. The Stolen Treasure mission will bring you together with a father named Lyle who is panicking because the Buddha statue that symbolizes his business fortune has gone missing.

Upon investigation, it turns out that his daughter Arin was trying to get rid of the statue because she was trying to cure her father’s obsession, as the statue had affected his personality. 

By completing this mission, you will gain access to Lyle’s General Store, a new vendor that provides a wide selection of books and special records. They may seem useless at first glance, but all of Lyle’s books can be purchased at an affordable price. By purchasing them, you quickly maximize your affinity level with Lyle, granting you access to Design Pattern blueprints to craft new outfits for EVE, including the Black Full Dress, one of the best-looking garments in Stellar Blade in our opinion. 

Angel of Death

Another mission that’s no less crucial to complete than Reboot! This side mission can be triggered while exploring Xion, where EVE will cross paths with Scavenger, who’s trying to trick EVE into secretly assassinating her along with her group that opposes Angel’s existence. 

This mission only revolves around a few story cutscenes with no additional objectives, so you can clear it in no time. After completing it, you can then gain the ability to double jump, a maneuver option that is crucial to master to maximize mobility during exploration. This is especially useful in certain areas that can only be accessed with EVE performing this maneuver.

Oblivion

For this particular mission, you won’t be given access to any new facilities or special abilities, but rather, you’ll be given access to the lower area of the Flooded Commercial Sector, which was previously flooded with water. 

Yes, EVE can swim and dive, but this is the only area in the game where you cannot swim freely as you will die upon hopping into the water. This lower area of the Flooded Commercial Sector is crowded with tougher enemies, but in exchange, you can also find a lot of materials and other important items, such as the Elixir Carrot for those seeking to collect all the Cans in the game. 

What About the Other Quests?

Not all side quests yield the same rewards, but slowly but surely, completing them strengthens EVE’s relationship with the residents of Xion and gains benefits from it. Sometimes, there are side quests that are divided into phases, such as Looking at You, which tells the story of a Sentinel named Su, who guards a bar where he has a close relationship with a legless female android named Enya. Unfortunately, Enya’s condition is poor, and she does not have consciousness and can only sing. This mission will have you help these two couples get closer again, including restoring Enya’s condition to be able to talk and walk again with new legs.

There are also boss challenge missions such as Life of the Scavengers. This boss challenge will have EVE will have to venture into the Forbidden Area to fight a tougher variant of the Elite Naytiba Brute, which is now far more challenging, especially during its second phase. Upon defeating it, you will be granted a lot of valuable loot, including a Design Pattern to craft a Sporty Yellow costume for EVE.

In summary, completing side quests can be valuable in unlocking various rewards and making progression easier. So, do take a walk apart from the main story, and bring EVE on an adventure to help the residents at Xion, while getting some lovely costumes for some fashion moments.
