So far, two chapters of the webcomic are available on the website, that being Episode 0 and Episode 1.
The official synopsis reads:
Shoto Kazama, a boy who has never been able to win at card games because of his habit of giving up on things easily, enters the immersive world of Digimon Liberator through the invitation of his childhood friend, Arisa Kinosaki.
The game allows players to engage in highly realistic card battles. At first, Shoto is hesitant towards it, but through his engrossing encounters with the Digimon there, he becomes a fan of the game.
Encounters with wild Digimon such as Pteromon and battles with NPCs who have gone rogue. These various happenings set the wheels of fate in motion for Shoto and his companions.
For the uninitiated, this webcomic series is based on the trading card game of the Digimon IP, as opposed to the virtual pet toy line the franchise is known for.
The flagship Digimon in the comic will be Pteromon, a new type of Bird Dragon Digimon that was supposed to be the wild but joins Digimon Liberator as Shoto’s partner in the story.
Like Pteromon, another new Digimon being introduced is Shoemon, and it will be Arisa’s partner in the story.
Both Digimon’s evolutionary lines can also be viewed on the website if you are interested.
Apart from a comic series, there will also be a Digimon Liberator novel series with a different story, with Impmon returning to be the flagship Digimon.
As mentioned, you can now read the Digimon Liberator comic series on the Digimon Card website.
