Marvel Games have released a new story trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, alongside unveiling more details about the upcoming game.
The trailer was revealed during the State of Unreal Livestream from GDC 2024, where the cinematic trailer explains the premise of the game.
According to the trailer, the story for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra would take place in the middle of World War II, and players can play through the adventure with an ensemble of four heroes that are playable at different points of the game.
As the game’s narrative unfolds, players will assume the role of four central characters:
- Young Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America
- Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather and the Black Panther from World War II
- Gabriel Jones, a U.S. soldier and member of the Howling Commandos
- Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris
Outside of revealing details about the story, the story also revealed some of the core cast for the game, which includes:
- Azzuri (WWII-era Black Panther) – Khary Payton (King Ezekiel in The Walking Dead)
- Steve Rogers (Captain America) – Drew Moerlein (Caleb Prescott in NCIS: New Orleans)
- Nanali (Wakandan Spy) – Megalyn Echikunwoke (Tara Price in CSI: Miami)
- Gabriel Jones (Howling Commandos Member) – Marque Richardson (Kevin in Step Sisters)
- Julie (Ally in the French Resistance) – Lyne Renée (Marie Dupont in Love at First Kill)
- Howard Stark (Father of Tony Stark) – Joel Johnstone (Gregory Jenkins in NCIS: Los Angeles)
Last but not least, the story trailer features original music from Stephen Barton, a Grammy Award-winning composer who is best known for his works in Titanfall, Apex Legends, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is slated to release in 2025, but no official date or platform has been unveiled as of writing.
