Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruins is a side-scrolling RPG that was developed by Edelweiss and published by Marvelous. It was first released in North America on November 10th, 2020 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. It was later released in Japan on November 12th, and in Europe and Australia on November 20th, 2020.
In the game, players will control the goddess Princess Sakuna who is tasked with exploring the Isle of Demons and clearing it of monsters while also looking after a small group of human characters.
The gameplay is separated into two main styles, which are side-scrolling hack-and-slash platforming levels, and a farming simulator where the player must grow rice in a small paddy where Sakuna and the humans live.
For the theme song of Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, the game features Saya Asakura, a Japanese singer who is well-known for her fusion music of Japanese folklore and Asian music, as the vocals for the main theme and ending song of the game.
