AR Smash Tanks is a game by Dumpling Co. and it was released for the iOS last year. With the ARKit technology that was released for iOS, a game like Smash Tanks is possible. However we don’t see much of that ARKit tech being used in games because it’s still in its early stages of development being new. Though we’ve seen AR games like Pokemon GO, Ingress, Ghostbusters World and the upcoming The Walking Dead: Our World, they’re not as fascinating as this one.
Check out the gameplay below:
If you don’t know about AR Smash Tanks yet, the game is an AR game that can be played anywhere which projects the game on any flat surface, eg; on top of a stool, table or your regular washing machine. The game lets you destroy tanks and surrounding buildings with a flick your finger. You fling your tanks against other tanks to deal damage or collect explosive weapons to fire at enemy tanks from crates that drops occasionally. There are two modes to play with; Single Player mode lets you play with bots while Multiplayer mode lets you play with up to 2 players.
This time, AR Smash Tanks has made it over to Android! Instead of using the ARKit that’s only available for iOS devices, Android uses the ARCore tech that made it possible on Android. However there are only a few devices that supports ARCore.
