A new entry into the Pokemon Legends game has been officially announced and it is going by the title of “Pokemon Legends Z-A”.
As part of today’s Pokemon Presents, an announcement trailer for Pokemon Legends Z-A has been revealed with a simultaneous worldwide release window of 2025 for the Nintendo Switch.
The trailer itself is rather abstract with not much information revealed; however, the game will be taking place within Lumiose City of the Kalos region, the setting of Pokemon X and Y.
The description of the trailer reads, “A new adventure awaits within Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is under way to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon.”
With this title taking place in the Kalos region of Generation VI, fans would speculate and hope to see the return of the Mega Evolution mechanic.
Aside from its confirmed region, the trailer teases a rather digital world, a very different setting from the usual naturalistic theme of Pokemon.
This would be the second game in the Legends series, with Pokemon Legends: Arceus being the first that was announced as part of the franchise’s 25th anniversary in 2021.
Released in 2022, Pokémon Legends: Arceus garnered much positive reception and sold over 14 million copies by March of 2023.
Legends: Arceus was often praised for its more refreshing gameplay that differs from the original in many ways but still retains the Pokemon feel, despite moving from turn-based combat.
