Arrowhead Game Studios has announced another server capacity increase for Helldivers 2, this time increasing to 800,000 concurrent users (CCU).
Johan Pliestedt, CEO of Arrowhead Studios has announced the news via a recent X/Twitter post.
We expect the @helldivers2 servers to hit the 800,000 CCU max capacity in 3-4 hours. There might be light queues to get in at peak.
Also, how crazy is this message from a studio of ~100 devs? 🤟

Pilestedt expects that after this update, there will now only be light queue times to get in at peak hours, while also acknowledging how impressive it was for a team of less than 100 developers to achieve this feat.
The post came just two days after the developers announced that the server capacities for the game had been raised to 700,000. So seeing another further increase in CCU in such a short time was quite surprising.
However, the developers did mention that final improvements were being made in the previous post, so it would seem server improvements were what they were referring to.
It was just around a week ago when Helldivers 2 concurrent player peak numbers beat out Baldur’s Gate 3 and Destiny 2, causing server capacities to max out and creating a bevy of server issues.
Now with the server capacities reaching 800,000 CCU, hopefully, the game will be free from the server and capacity issues that have plagued the game since launch, or at least it will be significantly lightened until a more intricate solution gets implemented into the game.
Helldivers 2 was released on PS5 and Steam on 8th February 2024 and has received immense popularity since its launch, with the game becoming Sony’s largest PC release to date.
As of writing, the game has reached an all-time peak of 458,709 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.
