Earlier today, McDonald’s released a teaser video with nothing but captions of McDonald’s shaking hands with Studio Pierrot.
In the teaser video, it flashes several scenes of the animations, mixed in with the messages.
From the creator of the world’s most iconic animes,
And the creators of the world’s most iconic fries,
A new world emerges…
Near the end of the video, it shows the date of 26th February 2024, accompanied by one of the voice actors singing the iconic jingle.
While it is unclear what the date is referring to, one can speculate that this hints at more details being released on that day, or the release of the animation project. Either way, fans will have to wait to see what the global fast-food chain is cooking.
Studio Pierrot is a Japanese animation studio established in 1979 by Yuji Nunokawa, an animator and director who worked previously for Tatsunoko Production.
The studio is renowned for several worldwide popular titles, such as Naruto, Bleach, Yu Yu Hakusho, Saiyuki, and many more.
While sudden, it comes as no surprise that McDonald’s would have an animation project in the works, as the global fast food chain has collaborated with anime such as Pokemon.

Furthermore, McDonald’s Japan also released several anime-styled advertisements drawn by Urachan last year, which proved to be a big hit among netizens, reaching 676,400 likes as of writing.
