Bandai Namco Entertainment will be introducing legacy costumes for Tekken 8 characters through the TEKKEN SHOP in a future update, alongside more updates to the game.
According to the TEKKEN 8 Post-Release Roadmap stream, the TEKKEN shop will be implemented in late February or early March, alongside in-game collaborations and balance changes.
The ‘TEKKEN SHOP’ is a new area in Tekken 8 where new customization items will be added. New items are scheduled to be added to the shop once or twice every month.
A variety of customization items will be offered in the shop, including legacy costumes and character-themed avatar skins. Some highlights include Jin Kazama’s Tekken 4 outfit, Jun Kazama’s outfit from Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and the Reina avatar skin.
Some customization items will be free, while others will be paid items. For the paid items, players would need to have the new premium currency named ‘Tekken Coins’- these can be bought from the respective platform stores, and cross-currency is not possible.
Aside from the ‘TEKKEN SHOP’, the developers have also shared news regarding this year’s Tekken World Tour, collaborations with other brands such as S.H Figuarts and Good Smile Company, and balance adjustments that the team is focusing on.
Near the end of the stream, they also showcased gameplay for Eddy Gordo, the Capoeira fighter who will be joining Tekken 8 in the upcoming first DLC.
