The all-time concurrent player numbers of Helldivers 2 on Steam continue to peak, causing server issues as capacity maxes out.
According to SteamDB, concurrent player numbers for Helldivers 2 have peaked at 408,133 on Steam as of writing this.
This currently puts the game in 2nd place on the Steam most played list, only behind Counter-Strike 2 and beating out other popular games such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Destiny 2, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, and Rust.
While this shows the success of Helldivers 2, the massive amount of players has also contributed to server issues plaguing the game, with error messages of network instability and capacity issues being a common occurrence.
In response to this, Arrowhead Game Studios made a post on X/Twitter, reassuring everyone that the company is working without delay to fix the issue.
“Despite our best efforts to increase server capacity to accommodate all of you who want to dive for Freedom, we are experiencing capacity issues,” they said. “We are once more working without delay to improve the issue and we hope to have a fix in place as soon as possible. Thank you.”
Helldivers 2 was released on the PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on the 8th of February, 2024, and has since been received with critical acclaim, quickly becoming Sony Interactive Entertainment’s largest PC release to date with the peak concurrent players records for the game being constantly surpassed since its launch.
