Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that the brand new Slim models for the Disc and Digital Edition of the PlayStation 5 (PS5) will launch in Malaysia.

According to the PlayStation blog post, the new PS5 Slim will be available in Malaysia starting on 20 February 2024 and the console is now available for pre-orders.

The retail prices for the new PS5 Slim model are as follows:

PS5 Disc Console (Slim) – RM 2,499
PS5 Disc Console with Two DualSense Wireless Controllers (Slim) – RM 2,799
PS5 Digital Console (Slim) – RM 2,069
PS5 Digital Console with Two DualSense Wireless Controllers (Slim) – RM 2,369

Unveiled last year, the new models packed the same PS5 technology into a smaller form factor, reducing its volume by 30% and weight by 18% (Standard Edition) and 24% (Digital Edition) compared to the previous model; with a 1TB SSD internal storage.

The PS5 Slim also comes with four separate cover panels, with the top portion in a glossy look, while the bottom kept the matte finish.

For those who purchased the Slim model of PS5 Digital Edition, there will also be an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive available separately for RM 529.

Furthermore, the horizontal stand will be included with the new PS5 model and a new vertical stand compatible with all PS5 models will be sold separately at RM 149.

Additionally, a variety of PS5 Console Cover colors for the new model will also be available at launch for RM 259 each, including the Deep Earth Collection colors in Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver.
