Fan favorite black-dressed android, YoRHa No.2 Type B, or simply 2B from NieR: Automata, will be slicing her way into Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising as a DLC guest character in late February.
Initially revealed a month ago, Cygames has now confirmed that 2B and the version 1.2 patch update will arrive at Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising on February 20, 2024, during the Frosty Faustings Chicago fighting game event.
As mentioned, the version 1.2 update will be coming alongside 2B and will introduce new content to Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
In addition to 2B, the version 1.2 update will be adding a feature that allows players to equip weapon cutouts in online lobbies, showing off their avatars in more style.
The version 1.2 update will also be adding a new exclusive costume called Crimson Bomber as part of the Premium Battle Pass: Round 2 for the fearless Zeta.
There are more details regarding the version 1.2 update, but Cygames noted that information will be revealed at a later date.
2B or not 2B
Since the launch of NieR Automata, which garnered much positive fanfare, 2B has been appearing in other games through many crossover collaborations, including Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers expansion, SINoALICE, Punishing: Gray Raven, Goddess of Victory: Nikke, Naraka: Bladepoint, and many more.
She is also no stranger to fighting games, appearing in Bandai Namco’s 3D fighting game Soulcalibur VI as a DLC guest character, and was even considered for TEKKEN 7 at one point according to producer Katsuhiro Harada.
In our review of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, we praised the game, saying “One may assume that Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is just a re-release of the original with a few added content, but the many improvements brought into this entry marked it as a worthy sequel.”
“Not only much of the issues that dragged the original down been resolved, but the new characters, stories, and mechanics gave the game a fresh coat of paint it truly needed.”
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is available now for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
