Lycoris Recoil original creator Asaura has announced a brand new manga titled Double Helix Blossom.
Double Helix Blossom debuted in this week’s edition of CoroCoro Comic, one of Japan’s monthly manga magazines published by Shogakukan.
The manga is illustrated by Gomeyuki Nishima, with the character designs done by SWAV, who is best known for their work in the post-apocalyptic visual novel, Stella of The End.
The manga takes place in the near future and features police officer Kiku Shinonome who recently woke up from a cryogenic stasis for 60 years to stave off what would have been a fatal wound.
In a new world unfamiliar to her, she is forced to team up with Kyo Tsukisagari, a criminal with a big rap sheet but has psychic powers, and together they solve all sorts of paranormal incidents, even while their personalities butt up against each other.
From the synopsis of the manga, it explores similar concepts and ideas as with Lycoris Recoil, that featured an unlikely duo set in a near future, and centres around enforcers.
Aside from a manga, Double Helix Blossom will also have an upcoming board game created by Masato Uesugi and Noriaki Watanabe, the duo that worked on the Kaiju on the Earth: Vulcanus board game, with SWAV being in charge of working on the illustrations of the game.
