Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that fan favourite character, Eddy Gordo will be joining the roster of Tekken 8 as its first DLC fighter.
Eddy was revealed during one of the latest video trailers showcasing Tekken 8’s opening movie, while also showing off some behind the scenes details, such as a brief glimpse of the mocap actor and some model animations.
Eddy Gordo will be the first of four DLC fighters for Season 1 of Tekken 8, and he will be joining the game sometime in Spring 2024.
Interestingly enough, this is the first time that Eddy Gordo is a post launch DLC fighter ever since his first appearance in Tekken 3, as he has been part of the base roster for every game in the series aside from this latest main instalment.
Based on the trailer, the inclusion of Eddy Gordo marks the Capoeira representation for Tekken 8, a Brazilian fighting style that combines martial arts, sports and music, which was absent from the base roster of the game.
As of time of writing, not much details were shown in terms of Eddy Gordo’s gameplay from the trailer, which leave fans speculating how Eddy would play like given Tekken 8’s introduction of the Heat system.
