An unannounced PlayStation 5 “V2” DualSense controller has been found online, which is said to come with an improved batter life of 12 hours.
According to VideoGamesChronicle, the “V2” DualSense controller was listed on Walmart Canada’s website, and is described as an “exceptional 12-hour battery life on a full charge,” which “supports long gaming sessions.”
As of time of writing, the listing has now been taken down; however a screenshot of the page can be viewed via WaybackMachine.
Based on the listing, this alleged “V2” version DualSense controller shares the same price as its previous model at $89.99 CAD, with the same dimensions.
The full description reads: “Take the gaming action into your own hands when you play with the PlayStation 5 V2 DualSense wireless controller. With dynamic triggers, a built-in microphone and so much more, this gaming controller offers a truly immersive experience. The iconic comfortable design lets you play for hours and hours.”
If it is true, this new controller would be a significant step up on the original, which offers a 1,560 mAh battery that roughly translates to six-hours of battery life, depending on the game played.
Aside from that, everything else from the built-in microphone, haptic triggers, headphone jack, touchpad, buttons, and others have remained unchanged.
The listing also states that a DualSense charging station offering “easy click-in charging” is also included.
Sony has yet to make an official announcement regarding this alleged new DualSense controller.
