Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Arriving 2024 According to PlayStation

Both Konami remakes of beloved classics, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2, are releasing on the PlayStation 5 this year.

The confirmation came via a new hype reel and a blog post released by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) that highlights the games coming to PlayStation 5 this year, including both Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2 remakes.

Neither game had a confirmed release window prior, but now SIE seems to confirm both titles will be released this year, but no specific dates have been given yet.

Note that at the bottom of the blog post, Sony stated “All featured titles scheduled for release in 2024 at the time of publication.”

“Release timings for unreleased titles may be subject to change and can vary by region.”

“Please check with the relevant publisher for the most up-to-date information.”

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, officially called Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, is described to be a “faithful recreation of the original story and game design while evolving the gameplay with stunning visuals and a seamless user experience” by publisher Konami.

Additionally, fans can also expect to hear the return of David Hayter in-game, the original voice of Naked Snake.

This year, 2024, will mark the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation 2 release of Metal Gear Solid 3, and aside from a PlayStation 5 launch, the remake is also set to be available on Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Silent Hill 2 Remake

Meanwhile, the studio behind the horrifying Layers of Fear series and The Medium, Bloober Team, is remaking Silent Hill 2, a beloved survival horror gem.

Mateusz Lenart, creative director and lead designer in Bloober Team, said that the remake aims to “preserve the atmosphere that made Silent Hill 2 so exceptional, while also modernizing many aspects of the game’s overall gameplay.”

Aside from Silent Hill 2, Konami also has several Silent Hill projects in the works, including Silent Hill: Townfall by Annapurna Interactive, Silent Hill f by NeoBards, and a few others.

The remake of Silent Hill 2 will be a timed exclusive on PlayStation with a PC version followed after.
