Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Unveils More About Sujimon

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has revealed the return of the Sujimon and more information about them for its upcoming highly anticipated Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Sujimon is the name given to the enemies Kasuga faced in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and now they are making a return in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

In Hawaii, Kasuga reunites with the Sujimon Sensei once again, a researcher on the subject of Sujimon, a name he used to refer to dangerous individuals running rampant in the city.

He even created an app called the Sujidex to collect data on Sujimon for the sake of peace and bring Kasuga to a place known as the Sujimon Stadium, where the Suji League competition takes place.

However, Sujimon Sensei has noted that the once-wholesome competition has now been overrun by profit-driven individuals and transformed into a gambling spectacle where illegal betting takes place.

Moved by the Sujimon Sensei’s wish to restore the Suji League to its former glory, Kasuga decides to participate as a Sujimon Trainer and resolves to confront the mastermind hidden behind the tournament.

Sujimon Battles

The Sujimon battles are 3-vs-3 team competitions where Kasuga takes command as a trainer to guide his team of Sujimon to victory.

Teams consist of three starting members and can have up to three substitutes, adding up to a maximum total of six Sujimon per team.

There are five different types of Sujimon and each has different affinities, thus opening up room for team considerations, whether balanced or specialized.

In essence, the core strategy in winning Sujimon battles is to learn enemy traits, swap out your Sujimon when needed, boost ally morale, and unleash special attacks for your advantage.

Snag Some Sujimon! 

After achieving victory in battle on the streets of Hawaii, Kasuga may get an opportunity to recruit a Sujimon.

By offering a Suji Gift, a Sujimon will accept them and be recruited, thus it is best to take advantage of every opportunity to build up your team.

There are also time-limited raids, where those confident in their strength can challenge for a guaranteed chance to recruit a Sujimon.

Another method of recruiting Sujimon is by trying your luck at the Sujimon Gacha, where you can use cash or gacha tickets to obtain a Sujimon.

Train Those Sujimon!

Sujimon can be trained by strengthening them by providing them with some Sujimuch, a nutritional drink uniquely designed for them.

You can also enhance them with Awakening, which occurs when you feed a Sujimon with another of their species, unlocking their potential and boosting their parameters.

Additionally, if you repeatedly awaken the same Sujimon, they may be pushed to the limit of their potential and evolve.

Here are examples of some examples of Sujimon that you may encounter in Hawaii.

The Feakalele is a supportive Sujimon who can soothe his allies with the timbre and melodies of his beloved ukulele and occasionally would swing it as a blunt instrument.

A healer Sujimon who mostly spends his winnings on repairing ukulele.

On the other hand, there is Dosukoi Gigantes, a super-heavyweight fighter whose physique is not unlike an iron wall giving off an air of dignity to any who behold him.

Despite his appearance, the Dosukoi Gigantes’ movements are sharp and can deliver powerful spinning kicks as special attacks.

Ichiban Kasuga the Sujimancer

As you progress through the Sujimon battle storyline, you may unlock a unique job unique to Ichiban Kasuga known as Sujimancer.

Sujimancer is Kasuga’s unique battle style that harnesses the power of trained Sujimon, allowing Kasuga to summon various Sujimon to provide various options in combat.

This particular job is unique as it grows stronger for every Sujimon trained and nurtured.

Dondoko Farm

After you restore Dondoko Island to a certain degree, you will unlock the Dondoko Farm, where you can train Sujimon that you’ve befriended in Hawaii to raise their level.

They will also help in restoring Dondoko Island by growing crops and earning money, and as they carry out tasks and train, their friendship with Kasuga increases and enables them to excel move in battle.

On Dondoko Farm, pests such as wild boars and bears may appear and damage your crop patches, thus requiring your Sujimon to repel them through battles.

Driving away these animals not only protects the crop patches but will also drop Dondoko Sirloin, which makes for a great island souvenir.
