The cruel summer ends with Fontaine fashionist Navia joining Genshin Impact with absolute style and here we have prepared a guide that goes through everything you need to know about her.
Navia is the president of Spina di Rosula, devoting herself to helping the people of Fontaine. Having a knack for investigation she does, she was able to analyze events from different angles. Also, she makes good macarons.
In this Genshin Impact guide for Navia, we will go through her abilities in detail, recommending the best Artifacts and Weapons for her, and potential team synergies. If you are looking for builds or breakdowns on specific parts of Navia, you can scroll down this guide for your target sections.
Navia is a 5✦ Claymore wielder and is our first return to the Geo element since the release of the great Arataki “Numero Uno” Itto 2 years ago. As a loyal citizen of Fontaine, she also possesses the regional mechanic Arkhe alignment, aligning herself with Ousia.
Talents
Normal Attack – Blunt Refusal
Normal Attack – Performs up to 4 consecutive strikes with photogenic moves, ending with a Mary Poppins-style swing.
Charged Attack – Drains Stamina over time and goes spin-to-win on her enemies, followed by a powerful swing at the end of the sequence.
Plunging Attack – Like other Claymore users, Navia plunges from mid-air and deals AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental Skill – Ceremonial Crystalshot
You knew Navia was trouble when she whipped her Gunbrella.
Whenever an ally obtains an Elemental Shard from the Crystallize reaction, Navia will gain 1 Crystal Shrapnel stack, up to 6 max stacks for 300 seconds. Each time Crystal Shrapnel is gained, the duration of the stacks Navia has reset.
When she activates her Elemental Skill, she opens up her elegant yet lethal Gunbrella to blast her enemies shotgun-style into smithereens, consuming all Crystal Shrapnel stacks and firing multiple Rosula Shardshots that penetrate her targets, dealing Geo DMG to foes hit.
With 0/1/2/3 or more stacks of Crystal Shrapnel consumed, 5/7/9/11 Rosula Shardshots will be fired respectively. The more Rosula Shardshots that strike a single target, the greater the DMG dealt to them.
When all 11 Rosula Shardshots strike, 200% of the original amount of DMG is dealt. In addition, when more than 3 stacks of Crystal Shrapnel are consumed, every stack consumed beyond those 3 will increase the DMG dealt by the Gunbrella shot by an additional 15%.
While Holding the skill, Navia enters Aiming Mode, giving you more precision while continuously collecting nearby Elemental Shards. Releasing it will fire Rosula Shardshots with the same effects as when the skill is Tapped.
This ability has two initial charges and periodically summons a Surging Blade when Navi fires her Gunbrella, dealing Ousia-aligned Geo DMG.
Elemental Burst – As the Sunlit Sky’s Singing Salute
…Ready for it?
On the orders of Navia, President of the Spina di Rosula, she calls upon magnificent Rosula Dorata Salute, bombarding enemies in front of her with massive cannons, dealing massive AoE Geo DMG.
For 12 seconds afterward, the Spina di Rosula will provide Cannon Fire Support for more bombardments near Navia, dealing more AoE Geo DMG and granting Navia 1 stack of Crystal Shrapnel every 2.4 seconds whenever enemies are hit by the cannons.
Passive Skill (1st Ascension) – Undisclosed Distribution Channels
For 4 seconds after using her Elemental Skill, Navia’s Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks will be infused with Geo DMG, which other Elemental infusions cannot override.
Additionally, the DMG delay by Navia’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be increased by 40%.
Passive Skill (4th Ascension) – Mutual Assistance Network
For each Pyro/Electro/Cryo/Hydro ally, Navia gains 20% increased ATK, stacking up to 2 times.
Talent Breakdown & Priority
Shake those Elemental Shards off because, after the long absence of new Geo characters, Navia swings into Genshin Impact holding her parasol Mary Poppins-style, making even Yondu jealous while bringing new interactions to Crystallize.
Every part of Navia’s kit synergizes with one another and generally focuses on hyper-boosting her Elemental Skill‘s damage output. Her Elemental Skill contributes the majority of her damage output and should be prioritized the most when leveling up Talents. While at first read, the description may be confusing, but all you need to know is that the more Elemental Shards she collects, the more potent her Gunbrella DMG will be.
Since collecting Elemental Shards is a core of her gameplay, she prefers to have allies utilizing either Pyro, Electro, Cryo, or Hydro elements and is not incentivized to be in a Mono Geo team like Arataki “He Might Lose but He’ll Never Admit Defeatto” Itto. In fact, her Fourth Ascension passive incentivizes having two allies of the aforementioned elements, boosting her ATK up to 40%.
Then we have her Burst, which deals one instance of massive Geo DMG and several more after. This ability serves as a good source of elemental application, damage over time, and Crystal Shrapnel stacks, so it is best to be able to cast it consistently. Thus, pairing her with another Geo ally or someone wielding Favonius weapon is crucial for her Energy needs.
Navia’s preferred role would be as an on-field DPS, generally hopping in whenever there are a lot of Elemental Shards scattered on the field for her to go gun blazing while her First Ascension passive infuses her Normal Attacks with Geo for more consistent DPS.
Talent Leveling Priority: Elemental Skill → Normal Attack → Elemental Burst
Constellations
Navia’s kit feels complete and plays rather cohesive already at C0, so there is no need to feel pressure to pull for her Constellations. That said, Constellations are always welcome for the improvements they bring to the characters. Here’s a breakdown of all her Constellations.
Constellations | |
C1 - A Lady’s Rules for Keeping a Courteous Distance |
Abbreviated Description: Each Crystal Shrapnel stack consumed restores 3 Energy to Navia and decreases her Burst CD by 1 second. Up to 9 Energy and 3 seconds of CD reduction can be gained this way. |
Notes: Huge! Massive! Gigantic reduction of Navia’s Energy needs, making stats building and team formation easier on her.
C2 - The President’s Pursuit of Victory |
Abbreviated Description: Each Crystal Shrapnel stack increases Navia’s CRIT Rate by 12%, up to 36%. Additionally, one cannon shot from her Burst will rain down as she uses her Skill. |
Notes: Made reaching the CRIT Rate requirement easier and served as a significant boost to damage by putting the focus more on CRIT DMG and ATK% for Artifact builds.
C3 - Businesswoman’s Board Vision |
Abbreviated Description: Skill Lv. +3, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. |
Notes: More damage on her most important ability.
C4 - The Oathsworn Never Capitulate |
Abbreviated Description: Burst hits reduce enemies’ Geo RES by 20% for 8 seconds. |
Notes: Resistance shred is generally valuable for big damage increases.
C5 - Negotiator’s Resolute Negotiations |
Abbreviated Description: Burst Lv. +3, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. |
Notes: A decent boost but not worth grabbing unless you are aiming for C6.
C6 - The Flexible Finesse of the Spina’s President |
Abbreviated Description: Each Crystal Shrapnel stack consumed beyond the first 3 increases Navia’s CRIT DMG by 45% and is refunded after Skill use. |
Notes: Turns Navia’s Gunbrella into a bazooka for nuking and deleting her enemies. Easily her best Constellation. |
Artifact Build
For Artifacts, know that Navia relies on ATK for her damage output so aim to provide her as much of said stat as possible. As a DPS, you should aim to hit the recommended 1:2 CRIT Rate CRIT DMG ratio.
Since her Burst is a reliable source for Crystal Shrapnel stacks, it is recommended for her to have at least 160 Energy Recharge for low particle generating teams and around 130 Energy for teams with Favonius weapons. Note that if you do not have the optimized 4-pieces of the following sets, you can always run 2 pieces of any ATK or Geo DMG Bonus boosting Artifacts first as you farm.
Main Stats Priority | ||
Sands of Eon | ATK% / Energy Recharge
Goblet of Eonothem | Geo DMG Bonus%
Circlet of Logos | CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Substats Priority | CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG → Energy Recharge → ATK%
Recommended Artifact Sets
Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods x4 |
2-Piece Bonus: ATK +18%.4-Piece Bonus: After using an Elemental Skill, gain a 20% Geo DMG Bonus for 10s. While under a shield granted by the Crystallize reaction, the above effect will be increased by 150%, and this additional increase disappears 1s after that shield is lost. |
Reason: Easily Navia’s best-in-slot outside of a Furina team. Natural synergy with her need for Crystallize reactions. |
Marechaussee Hunter x4 |
2-Piece Bonus: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +15%. 4-Piece Bonus: When current HP increases or decreases, CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for 5s. Max 3 stacks. |
Reason: The go-to choice if you pairing Navia with Furina, offering a damage boost comparable or sometimes even better than 4-piece Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods. |
Archaic Petra x4 |
2-Piece Bonus: Geo DMG Bonus +15%. 4-Piece Bonus: Upon obtaining an Elemental Shard created through a Crystallize Reaction, all party members gain 35% DMG Bonus for that particular element for 10s. Only one form of Elemental DMG Bonus can be gained in this manner at any one time. |
Reason: Can be beneficial for providing team-wide 35% DMG Bonus of a specific element but heavily depends on team composition. |
Golden Troupe x4 |
2-Piece Bonus: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 20%. 4-Piece Bonus: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 25%. Additionally, when not on the field, Elemental Skill DMG will be further increased by 25%. This effect will be cleared 2s after taking the field. |
Reason: Since most of Navia’s damage output is from her Skill, this Artifact set can be a good choice in maximizing the damage. However, note that the additional 25% Skill DMG expires 2 seconds after being on-field, forcing her to have a Quickswap playstyle. |
Weapon Build
As always, the 5★ limited characters’ signature weapon is generally the respective characters’ best-in-slot and Navia is no exception.
5★ Weapon(s) | ||
Verdict Sub: CRIT Rate |
Many Oaths of Dawn and Dusk Increases ATK by 20%. When characters in your party obtain Elemental Shards from Crystallize reactions, the equipping character will gain 1 Seal, increasing Elemental Skill DMG by 18%. The Seal lasts for 15s, and the equipped may have up to 2 Seals at once. All of the equipper's Seals will disappear 0.2s after their Elemental Skill deals DMG. |
Reason: Best-in-slot and designed for her, especially with the Skill DMG boost whenever allies absorbs an Elemental Shard. |
Beacon of the Reed Sea Sub: CRIT Rate |
Desert Watch After the character's Elemental Skill hits an opponent, their ATK will be increased by 20% for 8s. After the character takes DMG, their ATK will be increased by 20% for 8s The 2 aforementioned effects can be triggered even when the character is not on the field. Additionally, when not protected by a shield, the character's Max HP will be increased by 32%. |
Reason: Big stat stick. |
4★ Weapon(s) | ||
Serpent Spine Sub: CRIT Rate |
Wavesplitter Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 6% more DMG and take 3% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be reduced by 1 stack when the character takes DMG. |
Reason: Powerful stats and comparable to 5★ options, even Navia’s signature Claymore. However, note that this is a Battle Pass weapon. |
Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword Sub: Energy Recharge |
Melussistance! ATK increased by 12%. That's not all! The support from all Melusines you've helped in Merusea Village fills you with strength! Based on the number of them you've helped, your ATK is increased by up to an additional 12%. |
Reason: This upcoming Claymore will be obtainable for free through the Roses and Muskets event. It has a high Energy Recharge substat for Navia’s Energy needs and a high passive ATK buffs for each Melusine you helped. |
Tidal Shadow Sub: ATK |
White Cruising Wave After the wielder is healed, ATK will be increased by 24% for 8s. This can be triggered even when the character is not on the field. |
Reason: Craftable Claymore from Fontaine. The effect could provide huge ATK boost as Navia gets healed, so a good choice for Furina team. |
Teams and Synergies
At the moment, Navia’s team choices are limited due to her playstyle. As an on-field DPS, you generally want to pair her with powerful supports.
To take full advantage of her Fourth Ascension passive, it is best to team her up with two characters of different elements of Pyro, Electro, Cryo, or Hydro. It is also recommended to throw in Geo support for Navia’s Energy needs as well as the Elemental Resonance, which increases DMG dealt by 15% as well as decreasing enemy Geo RES by 20% for 15 seconds.
Team Recommendation #1
Main DPS | Support | Sub-DPS / Support | Sub-DPS / Support |
Navia | Zhongli | Rosaria | Bennett |
Zhongli Arguably the best shielder in the game. Aside from that, the Geo Archon can also reduce element resistances of enemies, allowing Navia to go nuts. Rosaria Rosaria has always been a well-rounded character who can take on many roles including support and off-field DPS. She is also great for buffing CRIT Rate, especially useful for on-field DPS like Navia. Bennett Is Benny. Need us say more? The true Pyro Archon and has one of the strongest buff in the game. |
|||
Team Recommendation #2
Main DPS | Sub-DPS / Support | Sub-DPS / Support | Sub-DPS / Support |
Noelle Good shield and good heal but requires her to be on-field for a short period before swapping Navia in. Furina Well, it’s the Hydro Archon of Fontaine. She can offer extremely high damage boost to Navia by consuming the HP of the party, so it is recommended to bring along strong healers. Not to mention, Furina herself deals respectable off-field damage. Yae Miko A potent off-field DPS that applies very consistent Electro to enemies. Similarly, you can also use Fischl. |
|||
Team Recommendation #3
Main DPS | Support | Sub-DPS / Support | Sub-DPS / Support |
Navia | Layla | Yelan | Albedo |
Layla Powerful Cryo shielder who approaches Zhongli’s level of shield strength and can apply decent Cryo. Yelan High Hydro application and HP-scaling damage. Yelan is generally a strong character in most teams. If you don’t have Yelan, Xingqiu is a good stand-in. Albedo Albedo has always been a respectable support at applying Geo consistently and generating Energy for Geo allies. |
Should You Pull?
Navia is indeed a breath of fresh air after 2 years of no new addition to the Geo roster especially when the element has been widely dominated by the same DEF-scaling Mono playstyle for a very long time since the introduction of Arataki “The One and Oni” Itto and Gorou. What differentiates Navia from the other Geo characters is that she generally wants to interact with other elements for her own benefit.
While she did not directly buff the Crystallize reaction, Navia did give it a purpose by having a unique interaction of buffing her damage with each Elemental Shard collected. Since she has no access to damaging reactions such as Vaporize or Melt, Navia relies on her multipliers and ally buffs to bolster her damage output. Even so, she deals impressive damage on her own.
Unfortunately, Navia being a Geo character made it hard to recommend for the long run as the element generally lacks good synergy with other elements, especially from the meta standpoint. However, I would say that Navia is a lot of fun to play. If you enjoy her character and care less about meta, go for her.
