The ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 Dota 2 Grand Finals had just concluded and Azure Ray has been crowned champion, defeating The International 2023 runner-up Gaimin Gladiators.
The nail-biting grand finals of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 ended with Azure Ray taking a 3-2 victory against Gaimin Gladiator in a Best of Five format (Bo5).
Azure Ray, the champion of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 will be bringing home $300,000 USD and 4,800 EPT Points, while second-placed winner Gaimin Gladiators earned themselves $175,000 USD and 3,600 EPT Points.
China representative Azure Ray consists of players – Lou, Xm, Xxs, XinQ, and tiān mìng (天命), as well as Liekkas as their coach.
Meanwhile, Gaimin Gladiators was the runner-up of the International 2023 with dyrachyo, Quinn, Ace, tOfu, and Seleri as the players and Cy- as the coach.
The final match closed out at the 37-minute mark, with Azure Ray leading with 27 kills over Gaimin Gladiators’ 5 kills.
It was also the first reverse sweep in a grand final since the Singapore Major 2021 with Azure Ray starting to gain momentum and begin dominating since Game 3 after Gaimin Gladiators taking the first 2 matches.
Azure Ray’s winning draft in the final match consisted of Naga Siren, Outworld Destroyer, Centaur Warrunner, Shadow Demon, and Phoenix, against Gaimin Gladiators’ draft which selected Gyrocopter, Faceless Void, Beastmaster, Grimstroke, and Pangolier as their heroes of choice.
