Amazing Seasun has revealed more gameplay information about its recently announced mecha multiplayer title Mecha BREAK.
While first unveiled at The Game Awards, they’ve since put out a second trailer, as well as updated their Steam Page with more information on its upcoming mech game.
It should be noted that the game is available for pre registration, as well as sign-ups for its closed Alpha.
Probably the most interesting reveal is that Mecha BREAK will have battle royale gameplay- according to the Steam Page this will include 48 players, forming teams of three or six.
That being said it doesn’t look like it’ll be the game’s main mode- all the trailers so far seem to show obviously AI-controlled enemies instead, including the big megabosses that players can fight.
Speaking of combat, we got a better look at the game’s UI- it looks like players will have a primary and secondary fire on either mouse button, with three abilities bound to the hotbar.
The game’s Steam Page implies this is less about making an ideal build a la Armored Core, but rather a case of pre-made mechs, promising each of the mechs to sport their own unique playstyle.
However, it looks like abilities may be swappable between units, as part of the gameplay footage also shows one mech equipping new items before suddenly having access to the hot bar.
There’s also plenty to love for melee fans- since the gameplay trailers clearly show some sort of combo system for melee attacks, as well as high-execution maneuvers like dash cancelling.
Finally, Amazing Seasun has also confirmed that color customization will be in the game, letting you alter the color of individual parts and even add your own weathering, to make each machine feel like your own personal death mecha.
