Arkane Lyon have announced their next title- Marvel’s Blade, based on the vampire hunter of the same name.
Not much has been revealed about Marvel’s Blade- though at the award show they also featured a short teaser showing that they’ll be retaining the classic Arkane art style.
They also confirmed the game will be a single-player third person game, with Blade operating in the streets of Paris.
Blade is a cult classic Marvel character with a strong following, loved for his embodiment of all things cool- sunglasses, trenchcoats and swords. .
“In honor of Blade‘s 50th anniversary, we have found the perfect match for the Daywalker in Arkane Lyon, a studio of uncompromising artists who continually push the boundaries of game design and innovation,” said Marvel Games vice president and creative director Bill Rosemann. “In addition to their award-winning talent, it’s their personal passion and bold vision for our half-human, half-vampire iconoclast that makes this collaboration a perfect fit.”
Development is reportedly still very early on for the Blade title, matching the similar pattern with the previously announced Insomniac Wolverine game.
That being said, the supernatural vampire hunter is a great fit for Arkane Lyon- the studio behind acclaimed single-player experiences such as the Dishonored series and Prey.
