Origin, a manga penned by Dr Stone artist Boichi is reportedly getting a live action adaption produced by Majestic.
In a report by Variety, the new production house recently penned a deal with Kodansha to produce the live action Origin film.
Origin tells the story of a cybernetic future, with the entire northern hemisphere connected by a transcontinental railroad.
The manga won a grand prize at the 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival, and recently began being published in English in November of 2023.
“We are extremely proud to be working with Kodansha and Boichi on ‘Origin.’ This project will redefine the boundaries of manga and entertainment, while delivering an unforgettable experience to fans worldwide. We believe this collaboration will leave an indelible mark on the industry and allow new ancillary avenues to open up along the way,” said Darius Shahmir, one of the founders of Majestic.
