Developer EISYS has announced the end of service for its idol rhythm mobile title, Maika Fantasia, a year and a half after its release.
As announced on the game’s official website, EISYS has decided to end services for Maika Fantasia on January 22nd, 2024.
In the announcement, EISYS noted that they had ceased operations on in-app purchases and microtransactions, stating that “Paid Rainbow Rieson”, “Monthy Passport”, and various item packs will no longer be available starting November 24th, 2023.
However, players who had purchased any items before the in-app microtransaction termination can still use the items until the end of service.
Additionally, the game will no longer receive updates for new events, gacha, or songs starting November 24th, 2023.
Maika Fantasia
Released on 29 June 2022 exclusively in Japan, Maika Fantasia is an idol management rhythm title in a similar vein as THE iDOLM@STER series.
Much like any of the iDOLM@STER games, players can meet idols, dance to the rhythm of their latest songs, and push characters to become Maika, the game’s terminology for top idols.
Throughout its lifespan, Maika Fantasia only managed to mass a total revenue of over $4,305 USD in Japan according to mobile analyst website, AppMagic.
The game peaked during its launch in June 2022 with $1,095 USD in revenue generated and another time in October 2022, however, the idol title went through a sharp decline in November.
As of writing, the game had managed to garner total downloads of 3,978 with 1,330 of them from the first month of launch.
