Ability Breakdown
True to her lore as a thief, Melania is a damage dealer with a focus on stealing Moxie from enemies to unleash her Ultimate Incantantions multiple times to overwhelm opponents. In general, you would want to play her as a main damage dealer in the team as with the right planning, she can unleash extremely high Burst damage.
As a sly thief, Melania’s first Arcane Skill, Silent Takedown, allows her to steal Moxie from her target for her use if she is in the Thief Master state, essentially shutting down the enemies from using their Ultimate attacks. If you can merge Silent Takedown cards to their max level, Melania could even gain up to 4 Moxie in a single turn, through proper use of card movements and such, of course.
Meanwhile, her second Incantation, Clockwork Rats, has an innate Leech Rate of 20% with the possibility of going up to 50% if she is in her Thief Master state. This means that apart from dealing impressive damage, Melania also has great self-sustainability. Not to mention that Clockwork Rats also grants Melania with additional Moxie if she is under the Thief Master state.
In combination with Silent Takedown, Melania can easily gain access to her Ultimate multiple times during battle. This then leads to her Ultimate, Ridiculous Eyewitness Testimony, an offensive single-target spell with the base damage of 650% Mental DMG. However, there is another aspect to her Ultimate, and that is she can gain stacks of Fixed Plan to bolster its damage potential. Basically, her Ultimate hits extremely hard, reaching up to 725% at Portray level 1 plus a 72% bonus at full stacks of Fixed Plan.
Psychubes
When it comes to Psychube choices, Brave New World would be one of the best options for Melania as it bolsters her Incantations whenever she casts her Ultimate.
Given that Melania can unleash powerful Burst damage that can potentially decimate enemies in quick succession, His Bounden Duty would be a good option if survivability is her weakness. On the other hand, Thunderous Applause is a great choice if you want to go for a Critical-focused build.
Synergies
Since Melania’s playstyle revolves around cycling through a series of cards and actions to gain the chance to cast her Ultimate as much as possible, she is rather AP-hungry. So if you are aiming to have her as a main damage dealer in a team, be sure to pair her up with Arcanists who consume less AP.

Final Thoughts
Given how diverse the cast of Reverse: 1999 cast is, especially in terms of how unique each character can be with their specialization, Melania is no different.
This thievish squirrel is an extremely powerful single-target damage dealer who can burst down enemies. However, to accomplish that, you need to be aware that she is no easy character to play as she is hungry for AP and relies on cycling to the right cards. Not to mention, she needs to always cast Ultimate, as the Thief Master state is tied to it, and only if she is in such a state would she generate consistent Moxie.
Of course, given how well she can steal Moxie away from enemies, you can opt to play her in a Sub-DPS or a support role, specializing in disabling opponents from ever using their most powerful of moves.
She is definitely a character worth considering pulling for if you enjoy her style of gameplay. Note that she may not be new player-friendly because of her intensive game plan so you might want to consider skipping her if you have not reached the endgame.
