Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash Wish List – Characters We Want To See Announced Next

When you think about Jujutsu Kaisen, the first thing that comes to mind is probably high-stake battles between characters with complex abilities. Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash lets players take control of these characters in a series of 2v2 battles.

However, there are still many popular characters still missing from the roster that fans want to see duke it out, with some having the potential to bring some pretty interesting play-styles and mechanics to the game.

Thus, we’ve made a list of who we want to see in the Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, and speculation on their potential abilities and techniques.

Kento Nanami

The 7:3 Sorcerer was briefly shown in a trailer for the game, but has yet to be officially announced despite being one of the most important characters in Season 1, where he served as a mentor figure for Itadori.

Nanami’s Cursed Technique, the Ratio Technique, would certainly bring some interesting mechanics to the game. The technique grants him the ability to divide his target with lines and forcibly create a weak spot at the ratio point of seven to three, which requires him to hit the enemy with a weapon.

I would like to see Nanami’s kit revolve around creating weak point on the enemies and increasing the frequency of critical hits performed. I can also see Nanami being a melee type fighter, as all of his techniques require him to be at close-range.

His Binding Vow, Overtime, would make for an interesting passive ability, greatly increasing his power after a certain amount of time has passed. This ability would make him a fun character to play against, as all of the guides would revolve around not letting Nanami reach Overtime.

The art of jumping is one of the most enjoyable aspects of Jujutsu Kaisen. Thankfully, there’s a mechanic in game that allows both characters with compatibility in your party to perform a coordinated attack. Nanami could link up with Yuji to jump the enemy and recreate the iconic scene from the first season of the anime.

Mahito

Similar to Nanami, Mahito was also shown in one of the trailers for the game, but has yet to be officially announced for the game. As the leader of the Disaster Curses, Mahito is the last piece to the puzzle that would complete the antagonist trio.

His Cursed Technique, Idle Transfiguration, allows him to shape the souls of anyone he touches, including himself. This could translate to a shapeshifting ability in game, with different forms having different play-styles, such his winged form allowing him to gain the upper ground.

It will be intriguing to see a character with an array of play-styles, and having to learn each one brings a level of depth to the character that others don’t have, which will be hard to counter for an inexperienced player.

He’s also one of the few characters that can perform a Domain Expansion. His domain allows him to shape the environment and transfigure anyone in the radius. In game, his Domain Expansion could directly hit the soul of your opponent and cause massive damage.

Toji Fushiguro

We did receive confirmation of a DLC for Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash that focuses on the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc of Jujutsu Kaisen, which puts Toji as one of the front runners for potential candidates for the game.

Similarly to Maki, Toji’s Heavenly Restriction causes him to have 0 Cursed Energy, but in return, his physical strengths are greatly amplified to superhuman levels of power.

For a game that places a heavy emphasis on having Cursed Techniques, Toji’s unique circumstances would probably translate to him lacking a Cursed Technique, similar to Roshi from Dragon Ball FIghterZ, which lacks the core mechanic of Super Dashing due to his inability to fly.

Despite lacking a technique, I could definitely see Toji being an effective fighter at both close and long range, as he has tools in his arsenal to compensate for this lack of a Cursed Technique, such as the Inverted Spear of Heaven which nullifies Cursed Techniques to even the playing field, and the Chain of a Thousand Miles that allows him to hit your opponent at long range.

His ability to nullify the Cursed Techniques of others would definitely annoy opponents, and his effectiveness at both ranges would make him a versatile character to play.

Suguru Geto/Kenjaku

Suguru Geto plays a massive role in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. From the prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, to the current events of the manga as Kenjaku, the character was present throughout all the main events of the series.

As there are many iterations of Geto, he may have different abilities depending on the version of this Special Grade Sorcerer we receive.

We would probably be receiving the high-school version of Geto from the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc as a part of the upcoming DLC. This version of Geto would have access to several Cursed Spirits at his disposal, potentially serving as a more offensive version of Megumi.

Similarly to his fighting style in the anime, Geto would be an effective combatant and close range. Paired with his ability to summon Cursed Spirits to fight alongside him, he can barrage the opponent with a flurry of attacks without giving them any room to breathe.

Kinji Hakari

Despite not being a part of the anime yet, Hakari, a third-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu high, has become a fan-favorite character among manga readers due to his charisma and abilities.

His Cursed Technique is literally just gambling, with his Domain Expansion granting him the chance to receive momentary unlimited Cursed Energy, which gives him unlimited Cursed Energy and invincibility, which can be used to chain even more Domain Expansions.

As players would have to use his Domain Expansion to activate his technique, the gambling aspect of it could be frustrating as the match would be decided by a win on the Pachinko machine, especially after building all the meter.

In order to minimize the randomness of his abilities, his kit should revolve around maintaining his Domain instead, where each Domain Expansion would grant him a substantial buff instead of making him un-killable, requiring the player adopt a more aggressive play-style to build meter.

The characters discussed here are just the ones I personally want to see in-game, and we haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of the amount of potential candidates that could be added to Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is most commonly compared to the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series, with a big part of those games being its expansive rosters, an aspect that the Jujutsu Kaisen fighting game can learn from.

The game looks really promising, and having a wide roster of likable characters with unique move-sets would just bolster its popularity among fans.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Steam, and Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on February 2nd, 2024.
