Blizzard Entertainment has revealed future planned content for Warcraft Rumble, including Raid mode, new Dungeons, Seasonal new collectible Minis, and more.
As part of the Warcraft Rumble panel of BlizzCon 2023, Game Director Tom Chilton took on the stage to talk about the future of the newly launched tower offense defense mobile title, especially highlighting the co-op Raid.
He confirmed that the game will be updated on a 6-week seasonal basis and they planned to introduce new Minis and various content every season.
Minis
Coming after the Banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner will be the Chimaera from the dark forests of Kalimdor, swooping into Warcraft Rumble in Season 2.
These two-headed creatures will be the first Flying Beast in the game and have powerful sieging capabilities, with each head splitting acidic breath and chain lightning respectively.
A quick rundown of their Talents is as follows:
- Corrosive Breath – Turns their breath to be an anti-structure attack that deals bonus damage to towers.
- Jolt – Chain Lightning now stuns enemies.
- Dynamic Duo – Adds Fury to the Chimaera’s attacks, causing it to attack faster and faster.
For Season 3 and beyond, Blizzard has also teased which iconic characters or units will be coming but did not specify which particular update they will arrive.
The future planned Minis include Emperor Dagran Thaurissan, the ruler of the Dark Iron clan, the mystical Faerie Dragons, and the almighty Elemental Lord of Fire, Ragnaros.
Raids
Speaking of Ragnaros, Chilton noted that, unlike other Minis, the Fire Elemental will not be a regular seasonal reward but a trophy for defeating him in the Molten Core Raid.
Further revealing that raid is a future planned content to be coming to Warcraft Rumble where players can co-op with Guildmates to take on tough encounters that mirror their World of Warcraft counterparts.
In Raids, players will challenge 3 Wings, each with its own bosses, their unique mechanics, and of course, rewards.
When challenging the Wings, there will be lanes shared among the players, but there will also be some that are specified to certain players.
Meanwhile, gold income will be shared among all players thus forcing challengers to strategize and discuss how to approach defeating the bosses.
After clearing the 3 Wings, players will then eventually face the final boss encounter and in Molten Core’s case, it will be Ragnaros.
It was revealed that Ragnaros will have 4 phases, each with special challenges tied to them, and defeating him will net players plenty of rewards, such as Boost Slot, Legendary Tome, Core, Platinum Slot, and the boss itself as a Leader Mini.
Dungeons
A new dungeon is also planned to hit Warcraft Rumble sometime in the future, bringing players to the vile academy of necromancy, Scholomance.
In Scholomance, players will be challenging the iconic bosses who reside there, namely Jandice Barov, Rattlegore, and Darkmaster Gandling.
Campaign Zones
The haven for the druids in the Northern Kalimdor, Moonglade is planned to be the next campaign zone sometime in the future.
The new campaign zone will be available after Blackrock Mountain and will be at the level range of 16 to 17.
This pushes the Heroic tier of the zone to be at the level range of 26 to 27, and notable characters such as Cenarius, Brightwing, Ysera, and more are said to be appearing there.
PvP and Other Features
Moving onto the PvP portion of the game, several updates will be arriving including a seasonal rotation system that changes the maps each season.
The Siege category will also be updated to feature new modifiers and they will be cycled on a weekly basis, altering gameplay in unique ways such as causing captured towers to cause collateral damage to players and more.
Additionally, a global leaderboard is planned to arrive at Warcraft Rumble sometime in the future as well as a full-fledged replay system for players to rewatch matches.
Ending the panel, Blizzard then briefly goes through the cosmetic items that would be coming to Warcraft Rumble, noting that they will be updated each season, bringing in emotes, tower skins, and Mini skins.
There are also plans to bring in towers inspired by the specific racial and faction architectures from World of Warcraft.
These are the future planned content that will be rampaging their way into Warcraft Rumble sometime in the future.
