Magic: The Gathering (MTG) has announced that its growing list of crossovers will soon include Marvel Comics.
There’s currently almost no information about the Marvel MTG crossover- all they’ve put out is a short teaser as well as a blog post about it.
“Titans of entertainment found in stores worldwide, Magic: The Gathering—one of the world’s most popular trading card games—and Marvel—one of the world’s most prominent character-based entertainment companies—are collaborating to share fan-favorite Super Heroes, villains, and more through amazing tabletop gameplay”, the statement reads.
Aside from that, other information such as tentative release dates, whether or not it’ll be its own stand-alone set or included with another set like the Transformers collaboration all remain under wraps.
It’s worth noting though that said teaser does feature the X-Men, Thor and Captain America, though considering the popularity of those characters it would have been an easy guess that they’d feature in the collaboration somehow.
This comes under the MTG Universes Beyond line, which includes crossovers with plenty of other brands like Lord of the Rings and Doctor Who, both of which released this year.
They also recently announced other big lineups for the Universes Beyond line, which sees titles like Fallout and Final Fantasy also coming to MTG.
