McDonalds Singapore has announced that it’s getting a special Pokemon collaboration, complete with a Pikachu Happy Meal box.
In a post on Facebook, the official McDonald’s page posted a teaser with a picture of the box, in striking electric yellow complete with pointy ears.
According to the post the new wave of Pokemon-themed Happy Meal toys will start from October 26th, though the exact lineup and nature of the collaboration has yet to be revealed.
Naturally, there is some trepidation about the Pikachu Happy Meal box- Pokemon merch is always prone to scalping, with many fans just off of the drama surrounding the Van Gogh exhibit and its exclusive Pikachu TCG card.
For those not in the loop, the event saw a special Pikachu in a Grey Felt Hat card released as a free gift for attending the museum exhibit, but improper protections saw scalpers storming the exhibit and reselling them online.
” “While stocks last” means one day when it’s Pokémon related” writes one Facebook user, Taylor.
The Pokemon Company has had a good presence in the SEA region- in Malaysia, Pokemon TCG packs can be bought at 7-11, and the brand itself is not uncommon when it comes to Happy Meal collabs.
That being said, in this particular instance, there’s been no word on the Pikachu Happy Meal box coming to McDonalds Malaysia any time soon.
