After Naga, her best friend Tia will also be joining Goddess of Victory: Nikke in the upcoming DAZZLING CUPID story event.
Tia is a graduate student from the Dazzling Pearl squad together with her best friend Naga. Easily agreeable with others, Tia is a VVIP foodie at many cafes and manages a well-known social media channel relating to dessert. She also has a huge love for reptiles and dragons.
Tia is an Iron Code, Burst I, SSR Defender class Nikke who wields the Chase Nail Rocket Launcher and is part of the Missilis line.
Note that this guide will be an early first impression of the newly released character, and her overall performances and usability may differ over time.
Skill Kit (values based on Skill Level 10)
Her Skill 1, Reptile Lover, activates when she is recovering HP while behind Cover, granting the following effects:
- Reduces Tia’s Burst Skill cooldown by 13 seconds, stacks up to 2 time(s), and lasts for 12 seconds.
- All allies gain 32.11% increased attack damage for 10 seconds.
Her second Skill, Chameleon Invisibility, is a passive ability with multiple effects and they are as follows:
- After landing 5 shots, the Max HP of Tia’s Cover will gain 32.75% of her Max HP, lasting for 5 seconds.
- Additionally, her Cover will taunt all enemies for 5 seconds.
- When using Burst Skill, the HP Recovery of Tia’s Cover will gain 21.41 of Tia’s final Max HP as well as recovering 21.96% of attack damage for 10 seconds.
Lastly, her Burst Skill, Lizard’s Protection, is an active ability that has a 40 seconds cooldown duration and has the following effects upon activation:
- Generates a Shield with 35.07% of Tia’s final Max HP to herself for 10 seconds.
- Generates a Shield with 10.21% of Tia’s final Max HP to all allies for 10 seconds.
- All allies re-enter Burst Skill Stage 1.
Skill Breakdown
Overall, based on Tia’s kit, she will be a rather powerful support, albeit with a caveat and that is she requires Covers to not be destroyed for her abilities to be efficient. Both her Skill 1 and Skill 2 are designed to interact with Covers and thus both synergize with one another.
The aspect that made her a standout support is her ability to strengthen the attack damage of all allies whenever her Cover’s HP is recovered, and such an effect will activate each time she uses Burst Skill.
Even though her Burst Skill has a base cooldown of 40 seconds, her Skill 1 helps lower such high duration to the point of essentially being able to refresh the ability activation every Full Burst rotation.
Speaking of her Burst Skill, Tia is also defensive support and is able to grant her entire team with Shield to defend against attacks and synergize with any ally that interacts with Shield.
Her Burst Skill also has a unique mechanic similar to Winter Shopper Rupee‘s ability, re-entering Burst Skill Stage 1 upon activation and allowing other Burst I characters to activate their Burst Skill immediately after, opening up options for duo-Burst I team compositions.
Final Thoughts
Judging from her abilities, Tia is undoubtedly a great support and can help boost the overall survivability of her team. However, as mentioned, her abilities largely revolve around the Cover system and if destroyed, her Skill 1 and Skill 2 will be bricked and unusable.
That said since she can repeatedly boost the HP of her Cover as well as recover its health, the likelihood of her Cover getting destroyed is low unless Tia is up against a tough boss such as Modernia. If you are worried about the durability of Covers, she can definitely be paired up with Cover-repairing characters such as Liter and Biscuit.
Arguably one of her most unique aspects is the ability she shared with Winter Shopper Rupee and that is not advance Burst Stages upon activation, thus allowing her allies to use Stage 1 Burst Skill again, opening up potential synergy with many powerful Burst I characters such as Dorothy, Volume, and such.
Of course, as a Dazzling Pearl member, Tia has a natural synergy with her best friend, Naga, especially with her ability to grant Shields to activate Naga’s abilities. Naga herself can also help repair Covers, thus both of them go hand in hand with one another.
Both Dazzling Pearl members will be a great alternative to the popular 777 Bunny Girls team composition for certain encounters. In conclusion, Tia is a strong defensive support worth consideration and can become formidable when paired up with Naga.
