SEGA has released a new animated short for Sonic Superstars, featuring the misadventures of the game’s villains.
The animated short mainly features the villains of the game, Dr. Eggman, Fang, and Trip, but also includes characters from the main cast, such as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy.
A new mode, Battle Mode has also been revealed, which can be played with up to four players locally or up to eight online.
In this mode, players control their own Metal Fighter and compete for victory across three rounds chosen randomly from the following events: Star Snatcher, Survival, Zap Scrap, or Race.
Players can also customize their Metal Fighters by repainting them and exchanging their parts.
Parts are available at the shop, and more items will be unlocked as you progress through the game’s story mode. You can use medals obtained from the game’s stages to buy custom parts for your Metal Fighter.
Registration for the Sonic Superstars newsletter is now open, where you can receive the latest news about the game.
Those who subscribe to the newsletter by March 31st, 2024 will also receive the Amy Costume Skin in-game.
Sonic Superstars will be released on October 17th, 2023, and will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
