Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, an upcoming action RPG from Don’t Nod, the developers known for the Life is Strange series, has been delayed.
As announced on Don’t Nod’s official website, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden has now been delayed to 13 February 2024.
The game was originally intended to be released on 7 November of this year for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam.
Don’t Nod CEO, Oskar Guilbert, made the announcement alongside John Bert, the managing director of the game’s publisher, Focus Entertainment.
In the short statement, both Guilbert and Bert noted that the reason behind delaying the game is to avoid clashing with other AAA titles during a heavy release schedule.
“We have decided to postpone the release of this new franchise by three months, as the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year.”
“We are convinced that a commercial release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden during a less saturated period will give it the attention it deserves.”
In Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, players follow 2 characters as they hunt ghosts in a story-driven supernatural adventure.
Players will have to combine Antea’s spiritual powers and Red’s arsenal against supernatural forces and solve haunting cases.
Furthermore, the developer noted that each decision made by the players will have dramatic consequences in the story.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will launch for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam on 13 February 2024 after the delay.
