Capcom has unveiled the Separate Ways downloadable content (DLC) for Resident Evil 4 Remake alongside a free update to the Mercenaries mode, as well as the VR Mode for PlayStation VR2.
As revealed during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s State of Play, the Resident Evil 4 Remake Separate Ways DLC will launch on 21 September 2023 together with a free update for the Mercenaries mode.
The reveal of Separate Ways DLC did not come as a surprise as many fans of the series were expecting its release since it was an unlockable campaign in the original Resident Evil 4.
Much like the original incarnation of Separate Ways, players will play as Ada Wong and experience the story once again from her perspective as she goes on a clandestine mission to retrieve the Las Plagas sample for series villain Albert Wesker.
As she infiltrates the village that is under control by the Los Illuminados cult, she will reunite with protagonist Leon S. Kennedy.
Alongside the release of Separate Ways, the game will also receive a free update for the Mercenaries mode on the same day of 21 September 2023, introducing Ada Wong and Albert Wesker as playable characters.
The new State of Play trailer also unveiled footage of the VR Mode for Resident Evil 4 Remake, an upcoming free update that is coming this winter for the PlayStation VR2 that puts the player in a first-person perspective to experience the onslaught of the Las Plagas infestation.
The VR Mode is said to fully utilize the PlayStation VR2 Sense control, allowing for more realistic weapon handling and enhanced knife action.
