The iconic key art for Armored Core 6 was done by the Malaysia branch of Bandai Namco Studios, it’s been revealed.
In a LinkedIn post, Character Supervisor Aaron Wong announced that the local studio had been behind the render, which displays the mech on the game’s cover.
“I am proud to announce that my team in Bandai Namco Studios Malaysia created this iconic render for Armored Core 6 : Fires of Rubicon, which is now on the game cover, magazine covers, promotional materials and game shops around the world!”, he says.
“I contributed as the Character & Rendering Supervisor, providing secondary art direction and technical support to the team. Amazing job to our hardworking production team Wendy Le, Rafid Zufar and De Jun Lua for the great work! Props to the Project Management and Translation team as well, Mei Len Chin, Amal Farial Khalid, Ken Masuhiro, Lydia Farina and Kai Wern Ng for their support in this challenging project!”
“I would also like to extend my thanks to [Toshiyuki Suzuki] for his help in the art direction and ideas to improve this render. We would not have completed this project without his guidance!”
It’s not just store decorations and magazine covers, however- this key art has also been translated into a statue, which featured the first 1:1 display of an Armored Core at San Diego Comic-Con.
