Nikke Fans Are Not Happy with the Inclusion of Pascal in the Upcoming NieR Collab 

Shift Up recently revealed that Pascal will be joining the playable cast for the Goddess of Victory: Nikke and NieR: Automata collaboration, and fans are not happy.

As we are getting closer to the release of the NieR: Automata collaboration event, Shift Up has revealed that the robot character Pascal will be playable as a free redeemable SR unit, though there are many negative responses from fans.

When looking at the official Twitter post that announced Pascal alone, you can see many responses that were either confused or angry with multiple fans even saying that they will not claim the unit even if he’s free.

There are also multiple other responses questioning Shift Up and Square Enix’s decision to include Pascal despite NieR: Automata having many other notable characters like Commander White, 60, 210, and Anemone.

On the other side, there are also fans questioning the developers’ decision to include a playable male character in Goddess of Victory: Nikke, which previously only consisted of playable female characters since its release.

For the uninitiated, Pascal is a robot from the world of NieR: Automata, who also identifies himself as a male despite using a female voice, thus making him the first-ever playable male character in Goddess of Victory: Nikke.

Some fans claimed that the inclusion of Pascal greatly contradicts the game’s lore where there are no male Nikkes, although Pascal is a collab character from another universe.

While there are some who gladly welcome playable male characters, they still think that Pascal is an odd choice over the NieR: Automata protagonist, 9S.

Despite many people showing their discontent over the reveal of Pascal, there are some players who are glad that he will be in collaborations as to many fans, he was a well-written character who deserves more love.

Alongside Pascal, 2B and A2 will be joining the playable cast in Goddess of Victory: Nikke and NieR: Automata collaboration event on the 1st of September, 2023.
