SNK announced that the mobile version of the fighting game Samurai Shodown is currently available as a soft launch in the Philippines and a global launch will be following soon through Netflix Games.
As announced on Twitter, the Samurai Shodown mobile is now live in the Philippines as a soft launch, and a global release is planned for 29 August 2023, 9 AM (PDT) for Android and iOS devices through Netflix Games.
As mentioned, the mobile version of the game will be available exclusively for Netflix members as part of the streaming service’s Netflix Games lineup.
Being part of Netflix Games, Samurai Shodown will be available to play as long as you have an active subscription to the streaming service with no extra fee or intrusive advertisement.
Netflix’s Samurai Shodown will be a mobile port of the 2019 reboot title, originally released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, PC, and arcade machines.
In the official trailer, SNK also revealed the game will not offer any in-app purchases but it is still unknown whether the Netflix release will include all DLC that was part of the original game at launch.
If you are a fan of Samurai Shodown and you are from the Philippines, the game is now live as a soft launch.
