Ubisoft, the creator of For Honor that we all love had recently announced their dedicated server infrastructure which will come to For Honor PC players on the 19th of February. The dedicated servers will be implemented on consoles as well after it is released for PC on a date that is to be confirmed later. Along with the dedicated servers, a major update will also be coming to For Honor as the fifth season entitled Age of Wolves which begins on the 15th of February.
The implementation of the dedicated server infrastructure is going according to the development schedule that was announced last summer. With the successful Open Test back in December, the team was able to gather the data needed for the live release. Thanks to that, the development teams are now ready to release the dedicated servers for the game. The dedicated servers will focus on PvP game modes and will fully remove the session of migrations as well as the NAT requirements while eliminating most of the re-syncing which provides a more stable experience and improved matchmaking sessions.
“Changing the online infrastructure while the game was live was a challenge, but a decisive step in improving the game experience of our players. The implementation of the dedicated servers gives us confidence in the direction the game is taking and will pave the way for a full year of continued support and new contents.” – Damien Kieken, Game Director.
Along with the implementation of dedicated servers, Season 5 “Age of Wolves” will also be rolling out in conjunction with their 1st Year Anniversary. Players will also be earning extra rewards during the first 3 weeks with a special seasonal event. The major update will adjust player progression, ranked play and more. New training modes will offer new and veteran players additional ways to hone their skills now with the new update.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios,* For Honor offers an engaging campaign and thrilling multiplayer modes.
