Com2uS, the maker of Summoners War: Sky Arena had just recently signed a license agreement with Funko Inc., the leading toy manufacturer in the United States. The move is Com2uS’s attempt to extend the Summoners War IP through figurines. With Funko being a world famous toy manufacturer and distributor with their unique bobblehead figure style, they will be making their first Summoners War IP licensed merchandise with Korean mobile game company Com2uS.
Funko, which also manufactured major Hollywood franchise IPs such as Marvel and Star Wars, will be reinterpreting the world of Summoners War and the game’s representative characters as a unique design of their best-selling figurine line, Pop! and Vinyl series. They will also be producing other various merchandise such as the cute character figurines, fashionable apparel and unique accessories. Other digital products like stickers, cards, 2D and 3D custom characters will also be part of the production to enrich the product lineup.
“We are delighted to license the world’s best mobile game, Summoners War, the fans of Funko and mobile games will love the characters and the world of Summoners War created in our own unique way.” – Andrew Perlmutter, president of Funko.
Funko is not the only company which Com2uS signed a partnership with, they had also made a deal with Skybound Entertainment who will be in charge of developing Summoners War animation and comics back in December 2017. According to Byeong-Jun Song (CEO of Com2uS), “Funko only signs for licenses with global recognition and we are privileged to stand tall among other global brands such as Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics, Power Rangers, etc.” Com2uS has once again strived to expand Summoners War global brand beyond the game.
