Sega has released a new interview on YouTube featuring Yasukaze Motomiya, who plays the role of Kosei Shishido, in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
You can watch the interview below on the Sega Official Youtube Channel:
Kosei Shishido is a lieutenant in the Watase Family, a subsidiary organization within the Omi Alliance, and a major character in Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name.
In the two-minute video interview, Yasukaze Motomiya says that he admittedly didn’t play many video games but he’d heard of the Like A Dragon series and that it revolved around Yakuza gangs which got him interested so he took the role when it was offered to him.
“I’ve helped write and produce Yakuza-related works but I think the script and story for this game meshed really intricately,” says Motomiya-san.
The Man That Erased His Own Name is a spin-off from the mainline Yakuza games and focuses on the series’ first protagonist Kazuma Kiryu under the new allies of Joryu, focusing on what he’s been doing between the events of Yakuza 6 and Yakuza: Like A Dragon, the 7th main entry in the franchise.
Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on the 9th of November 2023.
