Summer heat arrives in Goddess of Victory: Nikke with the introduction of Mary’s alternate summer themed self, Mary: Bay Goddess being made available for Limited-Time recruitment after the update today on June 15th which is scheduled to start at 11:00:00 till 18:00:00 (UTC +9).
Mary: Bay Goddess is a limited Nikke which means she will not feature in any of the other banners or shop once her recruitment duration ends on the 6th of July 2023 (UTC+9).
Mary: Bay Goddess is a Water Code, Burst Type I , SSR Supporter class Nikke using a Sniper Rifle.
This will be a first impressions based on the newly released Nikke, and her overall performance and usability may change over time.
Skills (Values are based on Skill Level 10)
With 2 [PASSIVES] and only one [ACTIVE], Mary: Bay Goddess is great for an Auto Commander.
Her Skill 1 – Seaside Sunshine, is a Passive that activates when entering Full Burst and affects all allies differently through consecutive Full Bursts:
- Once – Recovers 1.05% of caster’s final Max HP per second for 5 seconds
- Twice – Recovers 3.69% of caster’s final Max HP per second for 5 seconds
- Thrice – Recovers 6.86% of caster’s final Max HP per second for 5 seconds
Her Skill 2 – Waves Kiss The Feet, is also a Passive, but it activates after using consecutive Burst Skill and affects all Water Code allies by:
- Once – Damage as strong element increases by 20.85% for 3 seconds
- Twice – Damage as strong element increases by 13.88% for 5 seconds
- Thrice – Damage as strong element increases by 8.36% for 10 seconds
Lastly, her Burst Skill – Tranquil Waters is an Active skill that affects all Water Code allies by increasing their ATK by 23.23% for 3 seconds and recovers all allies HP by 27.87% of Mary: Bay Goddess’s Max HP for 10 seconds.
Without mincing words, Mary: Bay Goddess is an extremely difficult hero to suggest to pull, her full kit is only made efficient by satisfying two main components which is bringing a full Water Code team and fighting enemies that are Fire Code as they take more damage from Water Code Nikkes.
Furthermore, her Burst Skill – Tranquil Waters ATK buff duration is way too short at just three seconds. Luckily Mary is still a doctor at heart which allows her to have some decent healing capabilities from her Skill 1 – Seaside Sunshine and Burst Skill which is on a relatively short cooldown.
With this very specific type of playstyle and not much general contribution to be had beyond her healing skills, it is definitely hard to justify spending draws for Mary: Bay Goddess as she will most likely be yet another collection piece sitting on the benches just waiting to be used similar to Sakura for me personally.
However with that being said, Mary: Bay Goddess is still a limited Nikke, which means that if you miss the banner you will need to wait for a re-run to get another chance at obtaining her. Skills can be adjusted to make the character better over time hence we would still advise you to roll for her due to her limited availability.
Not only that, major bosses such as Nihilister and Blacksmith would theoretically be much easier to handle if you had Mary: Bay Goddess in the team as they are Fire Code type bosses and the increase in damage output would help make tackling those bosses easier.
For those who are truly tight on the Advanced Recruit Vouchers, you may also choose to hold onto those Vouchers and test your luck on the other upcoming summer themed limited Nikke that will be joining the Ark, Neon: Blue Ocean which will only be available for recruitment starting from the 22nd of June till the 13th of July.
