The latest game in the Like A Dragon series: Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth has been announced at the Xbox June 2023 Showcase.
The teaser trailer sees main character Ichiban strolling out onto a beach in Hawaii buck naked, seemingly without knowing how he got there. You can watch the trailer below:
Little has been confirmed about the game other than it will be launching in early 2024. With Ichiban as the main protagonist, it was likely that this will be the next game in the mainline series and will continue on from the events of Yakuza: Like A Dragon.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon marked a major turning point in the series, seeing it center around a new protagonist and shift the gameplay to turn-based combat (Ichiban is a big fan of Dragon Quest)
The reveal of the game comes shortly after the announcement that Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will release this November. This is a spin-off title that will act as a prequel, taking place between Yakuza 6 and Yakuza: Like A Dragon (known in Japan as Like A Dragon 7)
Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth has been announced for Xbox and PC but since it was announced at an Xbox Showcase, it will likely be announced for PlayStation as well at a later date.
