[Guide] Epic Seven – Should You Pull For Milim

During the Collaboration Rerun with “That Time I Reincarnated As A Slime” (TenSura) and Epic Seven starting this week from now till 25th of May (Thursday) 02:59 UTC, it was revealed that previously available characters such as Rimuru, Milim and Shuna (obtained for free) would be available for summoning during the event.

Much like her best-friend Rimuru, you might be wondering if Milim is actually worth to pull, while her build/playstyle does not offer the same kind of freedom like Rimuru does, Milim’s skill kit offers a utility that is quite unique to the entire game and may prove useful when combating very specific type of team compositions.

Milim is a 5* Fire Mage that has Dual Attack % as her Imprint Release, and Attack (%) when Concentrated.

Animations and Skills

Milim’s animation actually comes from her passive stacking mechanic and not her s3, while it is quite unique compared to other characters, unfortunately the animation itself doesn’t scream epic, with the climax of the animation being mostly black background with only the enemies and the light trails from her attack being the only visible things on screen.

While the animation is nothing special, her skill kit however is pretty great, starting off with her s3 – Dragon Fear, is a single target attack that grants Milim Increase Evasion while also inflicting Extinction on the enemy when the enemy is defeated. The skill is on a five second cooldown and generates two Focus for Milim for each cast.

Focus is part of her s2 passive called Dragon Eye (Milim Eye) which has a 70% (up to 100%) chance to grant the passive which increases her Hit Chance and Evasion by 20%. This undispellable buff also dispels Stealth from all enemies (ignores Effect Resistance). When the focus is full (5 stacks), Milim will then consume all the Focus stacks and cast Dragon Buster which attacks all enemies while also removing 10 Souls in the process.

Her s1 – Dragon Dive has an innate lifesteal effect that is proportional to the damage dealt while also casting Attack buff on herself after the skill ends. This skill also builds one stack of Focus and requires two Souls to cast her Soulburn effect which grants her an extra turn.

Suggested Builds and Artifacts

From the skills mentioned above, Milim’s definitely more of an assassin type character, she goes in hard on a single target unit and follows up with a huge Area of Effect (AoE) attack that does deal pretty significant amounts of damage.

While I personally build her with Speed and Penetration sets, (Speed to ensure I dispel stealth from any sneaky Rangers wearing Guiding Light such as Landy and Penetration to inflict maximum single target damage), there are also a few ways one can go about building her in terms of Equipment sets.

Her Artifact choices are also relatively flexible as any damage enhancer is great such as Frame of Light or Time Matter. Personally I gave mine Tagahel’s Ancient Book which gives her 20 souls that allows her to move next after casting her s1 which also includes an attack buff.

Different sets that you may use for Milim in Epic Seven include:

Speed + Penetration – Much like most characters who uses this type of set, you would want to pair her with Knights that can soak up damage like Arowell or Ras with Aurius to ensure she survives past Turn 1.

Counter-attack + Penetration – Milim’s that are using this set take chances similar to that of Remnant Violet where she will build stacks progressively and consistently use Dragon Buster, this is very much a RnG based type build and I would not advise it unless you are a very lucky person.

Critical Damage + Penetration – This build is best used if you have a team of speedy Combat-Readiness pushers such as Amid or Diene and will definitely deal the most damage out of the sets listed above.

Possible Counters

Milim is extremely dependent on her team due to the fact that she would need either someone setting up the stage for her, or she will need time to get herself started. Her low base Speed of only 110 makes her a difficult unit to attempt to go first during Turn 1:

Speed-based teams – Speed is indeed King in Epic Seven and unfortunately Milim does not have a built in deterrent like Rimuru when facing up against teams that are built faster than you. The only solution to this would be is to tank the damage and pray your team does not get wiped.

Choux – Choux is a menace for all but more so for Milim as she is a fire-type hero which means Choux could easily dispatch of Milim in the unfortunate event of a counterattack proc. She could potentially mitigate Milim’s damage through the use of her S3 which gives her teammates a critical hit resist buff.

Final Thoughts

If you have the resources and gear stat rolls for her, Milim is definitely a must have, she does great damage and her skill kit counters some of those stealthy type teams in Guild War. While she does not have the same potency as her best friend Rimuru, she does bring with her additional skillsets and options that could prove useful in Real Time Arena where she is not a usual pick.

There is also the possibility of a new 5 star limited hero coming with the collab rerun, so much like the Rimuru guide, I would advise on spending the Bookmarks on Milim if you have some in excess. A spare 10x or 20x pull just to test your luck could potentially get you a good collaboration unit. Not only that, she is also getting a new Exclusive Equipment which boosts her Critical Hit Chance which makes building her much easier now.
