Final Fantasy fans who dreamt to brawl with their favorite characters; who also often debates on who is the strongest character of all Final Fantasy characters are hyped about Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT (New Tale). Players who are fans of the game that was released for the arcades and now releasing for the PS4 would be excited to know that Square Enix will be launching the game on the PS4 on the 30th of January 2018.
While we’re at the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT event held at Watanabe Cafe, Singapore today, we got just the inside scoop from our interview with Producer Ichiro Hazama and Director Takeo Kujiraoka for you guys! With the end of the Beta Test for PS4, the devs will be including a SUMMON Boss Battle into the game. The Summon Boss Battle is an Offline Mode where players will bring 3 characters into battle. While players control a single character, the other 2 characters will be AI controlled.
The game is optimized and focused on 3Vs3 battles in a reminiscence to classic Final Fantasy RPGs. Players who are keen on 1Vs1 or 2Vs2 modes can play it in custom matches. At launch, there will be 28 playable characters and each of them are classified by archetypes of Vanguard, Assassin, Marksman and Specialist. However as seen in the picture below, Squall’s picture was not included but it is confirmed that Squall is under the Assassin type.
For those who are as excited as I am would be pleased to know that the game is priced at MYR 269.00 (SGD 84.90) for the Standard Edition while the Ultimate Box will be priced at MYR 959.00 (SGD 319.00).
The Ultimate Box comes with:
- A Season Pass that includes 6 additional playable characters
- 2 costumes for each of the 6 characters
- 2 additional weapons for the 6 characters each
- An exclusive Ultimate Collector’s Steelbook
- A hardcover 80 page artbook including sketches and artwork from Dissidia Final Fantasy NT
- Official soundtrack with 15 tracks selected from the Dissidia series and newly recorded music
- An 8.25 inch Warrior of Light Bust figurine
There will be more characters included into the game in the future. For those who have bought the Ultimate Box that comes with a Season Pass will have 6 free characters. The characters will be delivered via DLCs that will come later in the future. However future DLCs will not be free. There has yet to be an official price revealed but based on Japan, DLCs are priced at 800 Yen (which is about MYR 30.00, SGD 10.00 or USD 7.50) that includes free characters, 2 costumes and additional weapons for each of the characters. In game points can be earned from battles, however they can only be traded for BGMs. The BGMs are only applied to the owner and other players will not be able to listen to it.
As more characters will be added into the pool, the next character release is based on fans. Fans will need to voice out their opinions and devs will pick the most voted FF character. However the devs will also take Male and Female ratio into consideration as to keep the gender balance in the hero pool with the consult of Tetsuya Nomura (since he’s the designer for the characters).
One juicy info we got is of the next character release. The next character release will be a villain from one of the latest FF series that can range from FF XIII to FF XV. We could suspect a few popular ones from the series which are Barthandelus/Galenth Dysley (FF XIII), Lahabrea (FF XIV) and of course Ardyn Izunia from FF XV. Who else do you think could be a part of the suspected villain character release, you may leave your comments right below!
